Does explanation Destroy art ?????

My comments:
As and artist, this topic always tickle my funny bone. I understand the importance of the artist statement and the need to communicate "with words" the "Whys, whats, and whens" about the visual works, but sometimes things can get a little out of hand. I always prefer to leave a lot of room for the viewer. I feel that it is the viewer that completes my work. Each person brings with him/her the final touches to my paitings.
